Dr. Daras has been appointed to be a Committee Member of the National Sectoral Scientific Council on Data and AI Policy

 

The director of VCL, Dr. Petros Daras, has been appointed by the Ministry of Development and Investment to be a Committee Member of the National Sectoral Scientific Council on Data and AI Policy. The nine Sectoral Scientific Councils that were announced will support the National Council for Research, Technology and Innovation in the decision-making process regarding these scientific areas.

The focus of the Visual Computing Laboratory is to develop new algorithms and architectures for applications in the areas of 3D processing, image/video processing, computer vision, pattern recognition, bioinformatics and medical imaging.
