Τhe TESSERA project has now successful completed the first half of its lifetime, making significant progress towards building the European Security Data Space for Innovation (EU SDSI) – a cross-border, federated data space designed to support innovation in the security domain.
Over the past months, the consortium has:
On this basis, TESSERA continues to shape the conceptual and functional framework of the EU SDSI as a multi-layer architecture that covers data management, interoperability and governance, along with high-level requirements for software and hardware technologies, interconnectivity and user-management.
Emphasis has also been placed on stakeholder engagement. On 30 April 2025, the project organized its first online technical workshop, bringing together more than 50 participants from law-enforcement authorities across Europe, EU policy-making bodies, and security experts. Through presentations, technical discussions and a structured questionnaire, TESSERA gathered valuable feedback on the needs and requirements of end users.
In parallel, project progress was discussed in depth during the 4th Consortium Meeting in Alicante (1 & 2 July 2025), where partners reviewed results, challenges and next steps, with a special focus on the architectures of the national components of the EU SDSI, data quality frameworks and performance indicators. TESSERA also had a strong presence at the RISE-SD 2024 conference, showcasing its vision for high-quality, trustworthy and shareable security datasets, while building synergies with other European initiatives.
As the project moves into its second phase, the consortium continues working to strengthen data security, align with European standards and maintain close collaboration with security community, so that the EU Data Space becomes a truly trustworthy ecosystem.
