VCL's research in multimedia analysis and retrieval, supported by EU funded and national projects, generated state of the art knowledge and tools applicable to many multimedia related domains. The need for applying similar techniques on the fashion industry data led VCL researchers to build the VSeen visual analysis platform, specifically tuned for the fashion domain. VSeen is a visual search engine and a set of supporting services that were designed with the guidance of our end users, i.e. big Italian fashion brands. VSeen currently is in the process of demonstrating the solution to fashion companies around the world, aiming to improve the initial business model and provide attractive solutions to different needs and scales. Current solutions include a) visual search and visual analysis tools, b) visual recommendations, c) inventory management, d) market analysis, e) API and e-commerce integration.
